Allan G. Sheppard, Jr. age 61, passed away on January 20th, 2013. Allan served in the US Army Reserve, stateside as a combat engineer during the Vietnam War. Allan enjoyed a distinguished career as a road patrol officer, SWAT team member, field training officer and C.P.O., with the Lake Worth Police Department, before retiring in 2003 after 16 years of service. Allan was certified as a State of Florida Fire Inspector.
He was born in Elmira, NY to the late A.G. (Harry) Sheppard and Margaret Sheppard. Allan is survived by his mother, and wife, Theresa, both of Delray Beach; twin sister, Mimi Sheppard Brown of Kingman, AZ.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 5PM to 8PM at the Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Avenue (N. Federal Hwy), Delray Beach, FL. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 840 George Bush Blvd., Delray Beach on Saturday, February 2, 2013 11AM. Burial will follow at the Boynton Beach Cemetery.
