It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Dr. Allen E. Smith of Delray Beach on June 9 ^th , 2018.  Loving husband of Christine, proud father of Danielle and Hunter.  Predeceased by his parents, Hunter and Marie and brother Kent.  Survived by his sister Martha, several nieces, nephew and great nieces and nephews.  17 years of being a part-time lifeguard in North Wildwood, N.J. ended as he was then ready to pursue his passion to be a full-time professor.  Allen is regarded as a distinguished professor in the College of Business at Florida Atlantic University where he has taught students Marketing and Advertising for 35 years.

Friends may visit on Wednesday, June 13 ^th from 2:00PM – 4:00PM and 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 N.E. 6th Ave., Delray Beach.  A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 14 ^th at 11:00AM at Ascension Catholic Church, 7250 N. Federal Hwy, Boca Raton followed by a light lunch at the church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Florida Atlantic University, College of Business where a fund is established in Allen's name.
