Obituary

Anthony Joseph Scerbo of West Caldwell, NJ, and Delray Beach, FL, died peacefully on February 26, 2025.

He was born on June 15, 1967, in Jersey City, the second of three children to Joanna and Anthony Scerbo.

Anthony and his siblings were raised in Jersey City and then Pompton Plains. He attended Pequannock Township High School, before earning a joint BA/MBA in accounting from Pace University, followed by an MS in taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He built a familial camaraderie with his colleagues during his many years at L'Oréal, where he worked until his retirement in 2022.

Throughout his life, Anthony was known in equal parts for his reliability and humor. He was always willing to lend a hand to his friends and family and provided support to those who needed it. He was a valuable, trusted confidante for his siblings and close friends.

A major testament to his resilience and affability is how Anthony never allowed negativity to guide his life. Though he lived with kidney disease from a young age, he never used it as an excuse. Instead, he chose to embrace the best parts of life and make the most of every experience and the quality time he spent with others.

In addition to his friendly spirit, Anthony is perhaps best remembered for his easygoing and lighthearted demeanor. He knew how to make people laugh and enjoy even the smallest parts of life. As the middle child of his family, he ensured there was never a dull moment. Anthony's ability to light up any room with a well-timed comment made a lasting impression on his loved ones, who remarked often on the joy he brought to their lives.

Some of Anthony's passions included traveling to warm climates with his wife, Mindy; learning about and discussing the many nuances of classic and modern cars; volunteering in his community, especially through providing support with the tax process to the elderly; watching The Three Stooges; and rooting for the Mets.

Anthony is survived by his wife, Mindy Rosen; his parents; his parents-in-law, Carole and Stan Rosen; his sister, Ann (Gene) Amore of Pequannock, NJ; his brother, John (Lynne) Scerbo of Norwalk, CT; his aunt and uncle, Marie and Michael Raimondo of Montville, NJ; and his nephew and nieces, Matthew, Emily, and Julia; along with many other loving relatives.
