Barbara L. Griffin, 89, of Highland Beach, Florida and formerly of Manasquan, NJ passed away on October 8, 2021. Barbara was predeceased by her husband John C. Griffin in 2001. She is survived by her step daughters Susan McNeill of Wall, NJ and Lynn DeFreitas (Lee) of Freehold, NJ; three grandchildren, Ryan McNeill, PA; Scott McNeill, VA, (Adrienne); and Kaylee DeFreitas, NY, NY.; great grandchildren Liam, Owen, Evan and Sophia McNeill.

Barbara worked for a Manhattan law firm for many years as a bookkeeper and made many lifelong friends there.   Barbara and her friends spent many summers at the Jersey Shore. It was here that Barbara met John Griffin on the dance floor at the historic Allaire Hotel in Spring Lake, NJ. They were married in 1978.  Barbara and John first lived in Manasquan, NJ then moved to Boca Raton 40 years ago.  After Johns retirement as a Park Ranger for Boca Raton in 1999, they moved to Seagate in Highland Beach, Florida.

Barbara's love of reading led her to the Highland Beach library where she volunteered for many years. Barbara loved to travel, golf and bowl with her husband John and was an avid bridge player where she could be found in the Seagate clubhouse playing on a regular basis. Her life was full of friends and family there as well. She will be greatly missed by all.

A private graveside ceremony will be held on November 12, 2021, at Boca Cemetery, Boca Raton, Florida. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital Click Here to Donate Online
