Barbara Van Hoven Doherty, 72, of Delray Beach, passed away on December 20, 2014. Born in Duluth, MN on December 27, 1941; the daughter of Ella Lysne and Paul H. Van Hoven. She graduated with a Certificate in Arts from Monticello College where she was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa national honor society and was elected to the Social Cabinet. She later attended Bradley University. Barb was married for 17 years and owned the Cottage Door, a gift and art gallery. She was an accomplished artist, a gifted interior decorator and had a plethora of culinary talents, including owning RSVP catering. Barb was truly one of a kind! Her infectious personality, generosity, zest for life and independent spirit touched everyone who knew her. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Kristin Doherty of Atlanta, GA and was the center of a longstanding and ever expanding circle of friends.

A Celebration of Life party will be held on January 31, 2015 from 4-7pm at the Old School Square Gym, 51 North Swinton Avenue, Delray Beach, FL 33444 . In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society .
