Obituary

Barbara Morrison Love passed away at her home on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the age of sixty eight. Barbara was the daughter of long time Delray residents Mr. and Mrs. James Luther Love Jr., who owned the familiar Love's Drug stores in Delray Beach. She was the granddaughter of Delray Beach's first registered pharmacist, James Luther Love, Sr., and grandniece of Delray's first physician, Doctor Roy Cason.

Born on March 3, 1951, Barbara was raised in her beloved town of Delray Beach.  She attended Seacrest High School, where she was quoted to be a "true lady of fashion," with many friends who loved to laugh and to dance.  She was invited to join the Sandpipers , a social club of young people.  Barbara was a kind, loving and caring friend with an unsurpassed sense of humor and compassion.

After graduation from Seacrest, Barbara attended Valdesta State College in Georgia and shortly after moved to Maggie Valley, N.C., where she had spent many childhood summers.  Barbara found quiet contentment nestled in the mountains where she enjoyed cooking, nature and country life.

Closely following the death of her parents, Barbara returned to her roots where she could be near her sisters, her niece and her two precious great nephews, who gave her unparalleled joy.

With an infectious laugh and an enormous heart, Barbara was a cherished sister and devoted aunt.

Barbara is survived by her loving sister Andrea Love Goodman, brother-in-law John Goodman, her deeply adored niece Ashley Love Barnard, nephew-in-law Cameron Barnard and her two precious great nephews, Carter James Barnard and Hudson Burr Barnard.

A service and celebration of Barbara's life will be held at the Cason United Methodist Church on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Delray Beach Historical Society, Peggy Adams Rescue League or the donor's chosen charity.
