Barbara Rosacker, born on Christmas Day in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1938, the third daughter to George and Marie Ryan, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022. In 1959, Barbara married the love of her life, Arthur Arnold Rosacker Jr. and they moved to Delray Beach. Barbara was one of the first X-Ray Technicians at Bethesda Memorial Hospital and worked there until the birth of her first child, Angela. After the birth, Barbara had four more children: Bridget, Trey, Patrick and Heide. Later, Barbara developed a successful modeling career that continued throughout the next ten years. In addition to being an active member at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, Barbara became sales manager at her family's horticultural nursery, Floral Acres, located on Atlantic Avenue. She held many positions including Marketing Director representing Floral Acres to the following various florist and nursery associations: The Society of American Florist, The Florida State Florist Organization, Tropical Plant Industry Exhibition, and Florida Nursery Growers and Landscapers Association. Barbara, along with her husband Art, were founding member of The Jubileers, a Delray social group and acted as the organizations inaugural presidents. Barbara was also an original member of the Board of Directors of The Haven- Delray Beach (now in Boca Raton) in 1976. Locally, Art and Barbara were also actively involved with fundraising. They chaired multiple galas for Pope John Paul II High School, The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, Bethesda Memorial Hospital, The Women's Circle and St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary. Over the years, Barbara and Art used their beautiful home, Rosaire, now a Catholic Retreat Center managed by Opus Dei, to host a variety of individuals in need including several unwed mothers. In the mid 1990's, Barbara became an aesthetician and owned and operated The Skin Clinic, beautifying ALL the local ladies of Delray! Together, Barbara and Art travelled to the far reaches of the globe including: Europe, Africa, and Asia, compliments of her mother-in-law, Millie Rosacker, who owned Red Carpet Travel Agency. In addition, they also took a 6,000 mile voyage on their boat, The Sea Rose, along the U.S. route known as The Great Loop. Barbara was a devout Catholic and she and Art were invited in the mid 1980's by Bishop Thomas Daily, to become members of The Knights and Ladies of The Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. After selling Rosaire in 1996, Art and Barbara resided in Boynton Beach where she lived until her passing at Sonata Living. Barbara is survived by her husband, Art, children and greater family members: Angela, Bridget, Patrick (Suzanna), Heide (Hardy Taylor) and daughter in law, Ana Machado. Eight loving grandchildren: Ryan Hunter, Sophia Rosacker, Arthur Arnold Rosacker IV, Lily Rosacker, Caroline Rosacker, Regan Rosacker, Grace Taylor and Samuel Hardy Taylor Jr, and Romeo, the adorable maltese! Barbara is predeceased by her parents, Marie and George Ryan of Boca Raton, her sister and brother-in-law, Marianne and Vince Dahlberg of Boynton Beach and Shelia and Frank Dickey of Brownsville, Texas, and son Arthur Arnold "Trey" Rosacker III of Boynton Beach.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 15700 South Military Trail, Delray Beach, FL at 11:00 am followed by a reception in Columbus Hall at Emmanuel. Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, Delray Beach, FL.
