Obituary

Billie H. McCutchen, 85, of Boynton Beach, Florida passed away on March 20, 2021.  Bill was born in Booneville, Mississippi on August 12, 1935 to the late Clovis McCutchen and Vera Holley McCutchen.

Bill served in the Air Force for 4 years and then obtained his Bachelor of Science at the University of Southern Mississippi.  He moved to Florida in the late 1960's to build his career in the insurance business.  He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle.  A friend to all who knew him and came across his path.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara J. McCutchen, his son Scott McCutchen, his daughter and her family, Tracey Rossi, John Rossi, John Tyler Rossi and Rachel Rossi.  Also, his brother and sister in law, Bruce and Becky McCutchen of Booneville, Mississippi and sister and brother in law, Judy & Jim Counce of Saltillo/Tupelo, Mississippi.  He also leaves behind many nephews and nieces, who he truly adored.

Bill lived the American Dream: served his country, obtained an education by way of the GI Bill and worked hard to build a successful business.  He married the woman of his dreams, raised two children and provided them every opportunity and a solid beautiful Christian home to grow up in.  He was so incredibly proud of his grandchildren and took every opportunity to travel with them, fish with them and brag about them to his friends.

He was a member of Boca Raton Community Church in Boca Raton, Florida and remained steady in his faith until his last breath.  Bill maintained his longstanding friendships with his fraternity brothers of Phi Kappa Tau by golfing with them almost every spring well into his 80's.

There was not a trout or bass he didn't try to catch or a golf ball he did not try to chase.  His homes in Delray Dunes Golf Club and Dillard, Georgia allowed for so many amazing friendships and memories.

A private burial service will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at the South Florida National Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life memorial service for Bill's family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 4pm at Boca Raton Community Church at 470 NW 4 th Avenue, Boca Raton, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Trustbridge at Delray Medical Center, formerly known as Hospice of Palm Beach County. Click here to be redirected to the official Trustbridge website.
