Blain Will Wharton, 71, of Delray Beach, passed away on September 6, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife, Luz Wharton, daughter, Stacy (Joseph) Fisher, grandson, Jacob Fisher, sister, Chriss (Richard) Martorelli and 2 nieces, Laura O'Neill and Rhonda Martorelli.
Blain moved to Florida from Illinois in 1959 with his parents, Elizabeth and Will Wharton. Despite the distance, he remained a loyal Chicago Cubs fan the rest of his years. He was lucky enough to witness their historic World Series Championship in 2016.
Blain adored his family. He showed great pride in his wife of 36 years, daughter, and grandson. He loved animals, including the squirrels that made their home in his front yard, and his granddog, Wrigley, who would have loved to have chased them. He was very passionate about everything he did. Whether it be watching Chicago sports, lively debates, or receiving photos and videos of his grandson. Blain truly loved his family with all his heart and will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Emmanuel Catholic Church 15700 S. Military Trail Delray Beach, FL 33484 or the American Heart Association at www.heart.org in his memory.
