Carl D. Lavanco, 85, of Delray Beach, FL and formerly of Long Valley, NJ passed on May 5, 2024.  Carl was predeceased by his son, Ryan Lavanco in 2020.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Lynne Sweeney Lavanco, his daughters, Laurel Heuer (husband Al Heuer), Donna Edwards (husband Ron Edwards), Carla Lavanco (partner Jim Henahan) and two granddaughters, Casandra Middings and Gina Edwards.

Friends may call on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM at The Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Ave, Delray Beach.  A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 10:30AM at St Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 840 George Bush Blvd. Delray Beach.

Carl was a valiant man and patriarch of his family who valued love, loyalty and truth above all else.  He was a very successful business man beginning his entrepreneurship in his early twenty's with his ownership of Cardinal Lanes Bowling Alley and then went on to incorporate the printing company, Garden State Business Forms, which he owned and operated as Chief Sales Executive for 50 years.

He was a voracious reader and an avid golfer with a Hole-In-One to his credit on June 10, 1983.  Carl was an outdoorsman who derived much pleasure from nature when surrounded by the ocean or the woods.  His greatest joy came from his family gatherings and the traditional, yearly Christmas celebration at home where he would regale the family with his contribution to the feast of his famous stuffed artichokes.

Carl will be remembered by all who knew him for his welcoming smile, infectious laugh and the generosity of his spirit.
