Carol Brochu McCarthy, of Boynton Beach, passed away peacefully with her family by her side March 10, 2014 in Boynton Beach. She was born in Canaan, CT December 4, 1940, the daughter of Marie Antoinette and Wilfred Brochu. Carol was a graduate of Bentley University. She was employed by the Town of Manchester, CT for 21 years prior to retirement in 1999. Following retirement, she became a resident of FL. Her hobbies included gardening, knitting, reading and playing mah jongg. She was an active volunteer of Palm Beach Leisureville in Boynton Beach as well as Bethesda Memorial Hospital. Carol was President of the New England Club of Leisureville. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert and their devoted daughters, Diane McCarthy and Maureen Gacek, much loved grandsons, Andrew Gacek and Adam Gacek all of CT, sister, Barbara (David) Kaczmarczyk of Bristol, CT, brother, Donald (Judy) of Burlington, CT, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 14, 2014 11:30AM at St. Mark Catholic Church, 643 St. Mark Place Boynton Beach, FL 33435.
