Catherine Ann (Pickett) Bauer, age 86, formerly of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in Delray Beach, Florida. Katie, as she was known, was born on January 26, 1932 in Toledo to George and Celia Pickett.  She attended Gesu and St. Ursula Academy (Class of 1951) and was a member of Christ the King Church.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Joseph Bauer, their children Daniel George (Jacquie) Bauer of Stuart, FL and Julie Ann Kniseley of Gainesville, FL; four grandchildren:  Alexander, Celia, Connor and Grayson Kniseley of Gainesville, FL; and her brother George Pickett of Toledo.

Katie was the head of monogramming at Jacobson's Department Stores at Franklin Park Mall until she retired. Katie loved baseball, Notre Dame football and was a supporter of St. John's Jesuit. She moved to Delray Beach in 1997. Katie was a member and avid lover of the Historical Society of Delray Beach and the Palm Beaches. She loved trying out new restaurants, with a special affection for the Blue Anchor, and looked forward to 'going downtown'. She was passionate about helping others randomly and anonymously; and especially enjoyed her Silver Sneakers exercise classes. Katie always liked dressing up in green for St. Patrick's Day and had a keen interest in Irish history. She loved the St Patrick's Parade in Delray Beach.

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Gesu Catholic Church, 2049 Parkside Blvd., Toledo. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery immediately following. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Coyle Funeral Services, 1770 S. Reynolds Road, Toledo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to Catholic Charities.
