Catherine (Kim) Olson, 73, of Delray Beach passed away on November 30th, 2019.  Kim was predeceased by her loving partner Len Schlafman in 2014.  Kim was born and raised in North Plainfield, New Jersey, graduating from North Plainfield High School in 1964.  After graduating from a technical college in New York, she spent an exciting two years as a flight attendant for TWA.  She then took a position with the Xerox corporation for whom she would work for 33 years.  Starting as a secretary, Kim rose to become a corporate trainer, then sales representative, and on to the elite technical "Tiger Team."  This team was created by Xerox to support the U.S. military logistics operation with equipment, training, automation, and technical support. From there, she was promoted by Xerox to project manager for all sales, technical and automation operations for Boeing Aircraft. After many years of success in that capacity, she elected to move with Len to Delray Beach, where she supported Xerox's south Florida operations out of Miami as a systems analyst and trainer until retiring from Xerox in 2002.

In retirement she had the time to devote her energy to her community in Sherwood Forest and Delray.  She stayed active by teaching seniors driving courses for the state, volunteering at the Delray Beach visitor's center, and taking positions on the Sherwood Forest HOA.  She also continued her life-long passion of raising and nurturing her adopted rescue dogs, traveling the country and the world on her many trips and cruises, and sharing good times and creating memories with her friends and neighbors, whom she cherished as family.  An eternal optimist, Kim could always find a way to create and enjoy a good time under any circumstances.  All who knew her described her as the most helpful, kind and generous person imaginable.

Catherine is survived by her brother Bruce of Fort Myers, nephew Brian of Fort Riley, Kansas, niece Stacy of Golden, Colorado, and dog/child Pippin Olson.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life on Thursday, January 9 ^th , 2020 at the LORNE & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 745 N.E. 6th Avenue, Delray Beach.  The family will be meeting friends at 11:30AM and the service will begin at 12 noon.

Following the service the family will be hosting a gathering at La Bamba Restaurant, 4285 West Atlantic Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33445   Phone: (561) 499-7996 at 2:00 PM.
