Charles Radford
Parker
September 23, 1958 – January 13, 2024
Charles Radford Parker, 65, of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 13th, 2024 in Delray Beach. He was born September 23rd, 1958, in West Palm Beach, to Alice Mengel Parker. He was raised by his incredible mother and attended Plumosa Elementary and Saint Joseph's Episcopal School before graduating from South Technical School in 1978 with a degree in horticulture and landscape construction.
He worked as a landscape contractor and project manager on many large-scale projects, including notable theme parks and resorts across the southeastern United States and the Caribbean. Recently, he established a nursery with over 10,000 trees and palms on Florida's west coast. A dedicated team of horticultural workers, along with Greene Inc., contributed to this achievement, which filled him with immense pride and joy. Charles was an avid car racing enthusiast, and he especially enjoyed attending events in Sebring and Daytona. In his earlier days, he loved sailing on his Hobie catamaran and jet skiing in his mother's pool.
Charles was a proud father to his children, Radford (Lauren) of Seattle, WA and Emily of Las Vegas, NV. He is survived by his children and his sisters, Carolyn (JC) of Boca Raton and Alice of Boynton Beach. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, work colleagues, and all who knew him. Anyone who met him recognized that he had an extraordinary presence.
As Charles' favorite comedian Craig Ferguson once put it: "The universe is very, very big. It also loves a paradox. For example, it has some extremely strict rules. Rule number one: Nothing lasts forever. Not you or your family or your house or your planet or the sun. It is an absolute rule. Therefore, when someone says that their love will never die, it means that their love is not real, for everything that is real dies. Rule number two: Everything lasts forever."
A memorial service will be held at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Ave, (North Federal Hwy), Delray Beach, FL 33483, on Friday, January 19th, 2024 at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to Community Greening of Boca Raton .
