Charles "Chuck" Rooney, 94, of Boynton Beach passed away peacefully on January 24, 2022. Chuck was formerly from Lincoln Place, Pennsylvania. He was in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged June 5, 1946. He was an electrician and was a proud member of IBEW Local 323.

In retirement he was an avid softball player.  He was a member of a couple leagues and many times he was the designated runner for other players. Chuck was a dedicated member of the Delray Elks Lodge 1770 and was the Exalted Ruler in 1967.  He was also a member of St. Thomas More Church in Boynton Beach

Chuck was predeceased by his daughter Regina Burlew and granddaughter Tonya Robinson and three siblings   He is survived by the love of his life Elizabeth Breen Rooney.  They married in 1972 and he inherited a "project" (her kids). He is also survived by Henry (Cindy) Hoyman, Heidi (Jim) Stanton, Holli (Mark) Brisson and Marian Morrison.    He always treated us as his own.  Also survived by his Sister Peggy Kasprzak. Chuck had 5 surviving grandchildren, Jeff (Niki) Stanton, Rusty Hoyman, Allison (Jason) Sjaardema, Radford (Lauren) Parker, William (Shelby) Hoyman and 4 great grandchildren.

Friends may call on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM with a service at 4:00 PM at the LORNE & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 745 NE 6th Avenue (North Federal Highway), Delray Beach. There will be a private burial at the South Florida National Cemetery at a later date.
