Dale S.
Frost
October 13, 1943 – February 8, 2025
Dale S. Frost, 81, of Delray Beach, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025. He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy K. Frost, on January 1, 2025.
Dale is survived by his son David of Delray Beach, his daughter Christina Klemm and son-in-law Thomas Klemm of Delray Beach, his son Daniel and daughter-in-law Maria of Clyde, NC, 7 grandchildren: Susan Gelfand (Justin), Devin Frost (Amy), Dominic Frost (Jenna), Noelle Frost, Deric Frost (Allison), Chelcy Frost, Drake Frost, and 8 great grandchildren, and many cousins and extended family.
Originally from Lake Placid, NY, Dale and his mother Genevieve Hathaway moved to Delray Beach in the 1950's. Gen met and married Robert Frost, who adopted Dale when he was 9 years old. Dale met Nancy while riding the bus to Seacrest High. They became high school sweethearts, graduated in 1962, and were married for 61 years. Dale served in the Marine Corps from 1962-1966.
He worked for and eventually owned his own Dry cleaning, Laundry and Uniform Company in the Boca/Delray area, and Stuart. Meanwhile, he was the Director of Maintenance for Pope John Paul II High School (now known as Saint John Paul II). He was best known for having any tool needed, and for being able to fix anything. It gave him purpose to feel needed, and he never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He was an extended family care giver, and very involved in the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
One of Dale and Nancy's greatest passions they shared was spending time in The Adirondacks. He loved rowing Nancy around Osgood Pond, the site of White Pine Camp in Paul Smith's NY. They enjoyed the rusticity and peacefulness, and watching the Loons swim and dance on the pond. They also discovered that their families had overlapped in this very location for several generations prior to their meeting each other. It was their special place.
There will be a private Military Service of Honors, and a celebration of Dale and Nancy's lives to be announced in the near future.
