Darlene M. Lindeen-Fitzpatrick, 70 of Lantana, Florida formerly of Sycamore, IL, died on 8/9/2012 at Baptist Hospital in Miami, Florida. She was born on 3/2/1942 to Larry and Helen Laureano in Chicago, IL.
Darlene was a life long nurse, caring for people at DeKalb, Sycamore and Kishwaukee Hospitals. In 1987 she moved to Florida and taught others the joy of nursing at South Tech Community College until her retirement in 2000. She found great joy with her volunteer work helping others at the Caring Center in Boynton Beach, FL.
Darlene is survived by her four children, Dan (Denise) Setchell, of Sycamore, IL; Julie (Kirk) Bednar of Brentwood, TN; Cathy (Kerry) Collins, of Winston-Salemn, NC; and Amy (Corey Lodico) Setchell of Madison, WI; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild and her loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law and sister, Marty and Carmen Abraham, husbands Dr. Leslie Lindeen in 1984 and David Fitzpatrick in 1994.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at St Mary the Virgin Anglican Church, 101 Homewood Blvd., Delray Beach, FL 33445, with Father Erich Zwingert officiating. Burial will be at Amherst Cemetery in Nova Scotia, Canada.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Caring Center of Boynton Beach, 145 N.E. 4th Avenue, Boynton Beach, FL 33435 or to St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church, 101 Homewood Blvd. Delray Beach, FL 33445 in memory of Darlene Lindeen-Fitzpatrick.
