David C. Baker, 77, of Boynton Beach passed away on February 17, 2023, surrounded by his family.
David was born in 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio and moved south as a child, living most of his life in South Florida. He was a graduate of Florida Atlantic University, with a bachelor's degree in Business and Public Administration. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Marines and received an honorable discharge in 1975. He was the proud owner/operator of Baker Furniture for 31 years in Boynton Beach, FL. David and his beloved wife, Elaine recently celebrated their 50 th wedding anniversary.
Those who knew David also knew he was an avid fisherman who loved the water. He enjoyed spending time scuba diving, snorkeling, boating, taking long drives along the coast and traveling with family and friends. David relished the time in his life when he and his family travelled between Florida and Man-O-War, Bahamas. In his later years, the activity that he enjoyed the most was fishing with his grandson, Gavin.
David is survived by his wife, Elaine Baker, daughter, Cynthia Bouchard, son, Alan Baker and grandson, Gavin Bouchard. David was predeceased by his mother, Virginia Carpenter, father, Robert Baker and 2 brothers, Robert and William.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 11:00am to 12:00pm with a 12:00pm Memorial Service at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home in Delray Beach. A private Gathering will be held at the home of David and Elaine following the service.
David will be laid to rest with military funeral honors at the South Florida National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Palm Beach County Fishing Foundation which supports fishing education and marine conservation, a lifelong passion that David shared with friends and family.
