David Lynn
Cooper
August 27, 1942 – February 17, 2026
David Lynn Cooper, 83, of Boynton Beach, Florida, has taken his final bow. Known for his boisterous presence and unfailing humor, you never had to wonder if he was in the room—his distinctive laugh always gave him away.
Dave was a minister to four congregations over his long career, known for his compassion and support, especially for those in need. He was a man of wonderful, unapologetic contradictions. He welcomed his children's friends into their home, making sure each one felt safe and valued under his roof. Dave never missed any of his children's sporting events, always cheering them on from the sidelines with unwavering loyalty and determination, often taking pictures to pass out to their teammates. His constant encouragement and presence left a lasting impression not only on his family but also on many within his community. Whether helping a neighbor, guiding a parishioner through tough times, or offering a listening ear to a friend, Dave's kindness and generosity truly distinguished him. His legacy will endure through countless memories cherished by loved ones and friends alike.
In his younger days, Dave spent hours fixing up cars that were often covered in Bondo, playing church league softball, bowling, spending time at the camp, or listening to rock and roll. Later on, his perfect day consisted of being on the golf course or watching sports on TV. As a devoted Detroit Lions supporter, he remained loyal through tough times and was finally able to enjoy multiple seasons with winning records and thrilling playoff runs.
Dave cherished his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Anne. His legacy lives on through his three children by his first wife Coral—David (Carla), Christopher (Colene), and Melissa—and grandchildren: Hannah, Jackson, Jayden, Cooper, Samuel, Dylan, and Madison. He passed on his liberal values, work ethic, humor, and Dutch determination. Dave is also survived by his brother Richard (Roz) and sister-in-law Darlene (Jim).
He is now reunited on the other side with his parents, James and Juella (Brower); his brother, Jim; and his aunts, Florence and Henrietta Brower, who loved him like second mothers.
Dave never liked formalities. Instead of sending flowers, raise a glass of the cheapest whiskey you can find, enjoy it on the rocks, and share a truly terrible joke or a fond memory to remember him by.
