David Delany, 83, of Boynton Beach, FL, formerly of Marblehead, MA, passed away peacefully on March 25, Palm Sunday. David was born in 1934 in Geneva, Switzerland to British parents. The family moved back to England in 1936. David grew up and had his primary education in England until 1952, when he traveled to Montreal, Canada, to attend McGill University where he obtained a degree in Economics with distinction in 1955. In 1958 he traveled to Cambridge, MA to attend Harvard Business School and then decided to live and stay in the United States. His first job was with Standard Oil of CA in San Francisco where he met and married his future wife, Jacqueline Dumas. They were married in Manchester, NH in 1961 and then settled in the Boston area where David worked in the areas of real estate development, financing and investment banking on a national level. David and Jackie had four children, of whom three survive, Stephen of Palm City, FL, Lisa Larkin of Weston, MA, Amanda Given of Marblehead, MA and Caroline, all with beloved spouses Michelle Delany, Charles Larkin, and Jeffrey Given. The Delany Family lived in the historic town of Marblehead on Boston's north shore from 1971 to 1996. They were active members of the Corinthian Yacht Club and enjoyed sailing on their yacht, Blue Chip. David was active in town affairs, he was appointed to the Board of Zoning Appeals in 1979 where he served until 1996, spending nine years as Chairman. In 1995, David and Jackie started spending time in Boynton Beach, where they spent many years playing tennis at the Quail Ridge Country Club and as resident members of the Delray Dunes Country Club. While at Delray Dunes, David was elected to the Board of the Homeowners Association in 2003, where he served as President from 2004-2006. In 2009 he was elected to the Board of Governors of the Club where he served until 2012.

David leaves his three beloved children and five grandchildren Chad, MacKenzie and Julia Larkin, and Lexi and Lara Given, all whom he cherished dearly. Jackie predeceased David in 2000 after 39 years of marriage. Services will be private.
