David Clingman Ledbetter went to be with his heavenly father on November 14, 2018.  David was born May 5th, 1928 in Franklin, NC.  He had the privilege of serving as a military police officer in post World War II Germany with Odell Haskett and David Monteith, with whom he would become lifelong friends.  He married the love of his life, Felice Ledbetter and they enjoyed many happy years together helping raise their grandchildren and in service at Lakeview Baptist Church where David taught Sunday school, served as a Deacon and produced some amazing barbeque. In the two years leading up to Felice's passing, David fought through stage 3 cancer to be the primary care giver for Felice, demonstrating his love and devotion to her as she went through that difficult time.  Always quick with a joke (and it was usually the same joke he'd told a hundred times), David loved his family and friends deeply and he will be sorely missed, but he is now home with his heavenly Father and reunited with his love.

David is survived by his 3 grandsons George Johnson, Tyler (& Kit) Johnson and Christian Johnson; 6 wonderful great grandchildren Marie, Wesley (Pilgrim), Allison, Hayden, Bailey and Harrison and many nieces and nephews and their families including Jim Truitt, Joey Truitt, Jenny Truitt, Janet Truitt Rodden, Jay Ledbetter, Lizanne Ledbetter McClenon and many others.

Visitation will be held from 10:00AM – 11:00AM with a Funeral Service at 11:00AM on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Lakeview Baptist Church, 2599 N. Swinton Ave, Delray Beach.  Following the service, the interment will be held at the Delray Beach Cemetery, 700 SW 8th Ave, Delray Beach and a potluck celebration (you know he loved his potlucks) will follow back at Lakeview.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lakeview Baptist Church or to a favorite charitable organization.
