David (Dave) Todd Newman, 57, of Delray Beach and formerly of Michigan passed away on November 13, 2014. Dave leaves his wife, Karen, who he absolutely adored and loved beyond words. His true treasures are his son Jacob, daughter Christiane, who he lovingly called "Cis" and her fiancé, Austin Brailey. David was the loving son-in-law of Jacob and L. Mary Skenian who he cared for with tender and loving grace and brother-in-law of Michael (Pam) Skenian. He is also survived by his parents, Al and Neva Newman, of Venice, FL, his son Michael of Michigan, sister Linda, brothers Larry (Denise) and his best friend and younger brother Don and his wife, Anna. David is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son David, Jr.
Having been an organ donor, Dave selflessly will live on in the lives of the blind, cancer patients, burn victims and many others. Dave's customers all will be missing his extraordinary gift of knowledge about how to repair something immediately and was known as "Super Dave", "Miracle Man" and "My Mechanic" by those who knew him for over 20 years.
A service celebrating Dave's life will be held at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Avenue, Delray Beach on Saturday, November 22 at 10:00a.m, ministered by his cousin John (Catherine) Shahzade. For those wishing to attend, and in honor of Dave's wishes, following the service his family will be taking his cremains to the reef at the beach he loved so much. His family requests that those attending his service be dressed in beach attire such as shorts, t-shirts and flip flops not only at the beach, but at the funeral home as well. Please, no mourning colors such as black. The Newman and Skenian families truly appreciate and thank everyone for all the love they have received this past week and request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses.
