I'm heartbroken to announce that after an heroic battle with cancer, the beautiful and mighty woman that was Doris Ahern-Steele has died peacefully surrounded by a wave of love from family. She died as she lived, fearlessly.

She is survived by her husband Doug, her siblings Margaret Ahern, Carole McGarry, Maureen Ahern, Nora Ahern, Tom Ahern, Patrick Ahern, Jackie Ahern and BettyAnn Derenches and many nieces and nephews.

Doris was very talented and creative. An expert quilter who designed many beautiful, award-winning quilts. She was a woman of great spirit, kindness, and generosity. Always dedicated to her work, and even more so to her husband, family, and friends. We were blessed to have her in our lives. She blazed so brightly. Go with God Doris, and peace be with you and your spirit. Thank you.
