Obituary

Dorothy Ann Gagne was born in Framingham, Massachusetts on February 7, 1927 the daughter of Harriet and Bernard Shea.  She grew up in Somerville, Massachusetts and graduated from Somerville High School in 1944 where she was the Vice President of her class.

Dotty met the love of her life, Larry Gagne in French class while attending high school. They both loved dancing together and enjoyed many dances at the Totem Pole at Norumbega Park. After Larry returned from the war in 1947, they were married and later moved to Lincoln Massachusetts where they raised their five children. They shared 73 happy years of true love and companionship until Larry's passing in January of this year.

She was always an insatiable reader and shared her love of books with her children. She traveled the world with Larry on business. Dotty also enjoyed traveling with friends and her children on cruises and travels to Europe. She loved to golf with her friends at Nashawtuc Country Club and later at Delray Dunes in Florida where she had a hole-in-one which was one of her favorite memories. She loved singing and dancing; she danced the Irish Jig at Delray Dunes St. Patrick's Day parties. Her Irish eyes and great spirit were smiling until the very end.

Dotty will be dearly missed by her 5 children – Joanne (Joe) D'Amelio, Linda (Mark) Glasser, Barbara (Robert) Delucia, Larry Gagne Jr., and Laurel (Brian) Heisey. Dotty is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard, and sister, Virginia.

The family will hold a celebration of life at Delray Dunes in Florida at a later date in remembrance of Dorothy's wonderful life when large gatherings are permitted.
