Obituary

Dorothy Teresa Smith was born on July 24, 1949 to Marlin D. Smith and Dorothy B. Smith and died on September 15, 2022 at her home in Delray Beach Florida after a long illness.  She is survived by her loving daughter and one of her best friends Marlyn M. Hodgens.

She grew up around Washington DC, and met lifelong friends at Crossland High School.  She loved keeping up with those friends and her family through social media and long phone calls.  Loyalty was very important to her and she was always willing to listen or help any friend in need.  She looked for the best in people, once you became a friend you were a friend for life.

She was a current member of both Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile, although not able to attend meetings in recent years, still kept up with the other members and will be missed.

Terry was a voracious reader and enjoyed all types of books, which allowed for hours of entertainment and self-betterment.  One of her life goals was to meet Mother Theresa, which she accomplished in 1996 with a trip to India.  She volunteered at one of the shelters, where she was able to spend time with Mother Theresa and receive a blessing.

As her friends will attest, Terry loved to be behind the camera (Marlyn's take on that was so she was not in the pictures).  However she loved taking all types pictures, and had an exceptional eye for what would make a great photo, whether it was people, animals or landscapes.

One of her favorite sayings was "Grant me patience Lord, but hurry!"

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.  She will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.
