Dorothy Beatrice Zill Susleck, known as "Boots" or "Bootsie" to friends and family, passed away on December 25, 2015, at the age of 87. Granddaughter of Sophie Frey, one of the early residents of Delray Beach, and the daughter of William G. and Carrie W. Zill of Delray Beach, she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Thomas J. Susleck, and two brothers, Laurence H. Zill and William Forrest Zill. Survivors include one daughter, Dacia C Susleck, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Bootsie was born July 23, 1928, in the family home once located on North Federal Highway in Delray. She attended elementary and high school in Delray and graduated in 1952 from Southern Missionary College in Collegedale, Tennessee with a Bachelors degree in Music. She taught music and cared for her parents until she was married in 1957. For much of her life, Dorothy was an active church organist for Delray Presbyterian and for the Boynton-Delray Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was also a charter member. She also worked as an LPN at Bethesda Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1990. In 2004 she moved to Ringgold, Georgia. Throughout her life she enjoyed family, music, growing orchids, traveling with her daughter, and was an avid quilter. She was an integral part of Zill Mango Nursery for many years assisting her brother, Laurence, in the propagation of mango varieties. She was most happy when she was helping others. Burial service will be private.
