Draga
Ansarova
September 13, 1932 – February 29, 2024
Draga Ansarova was born in a small village in Macedonia in 1932. As a young girl, she showed a gift for perfection and beauty with the clothes she crafted for herself. Her whole life she was driven to work hard, and that effort combined with her empathetic nature is what made her pursuits bear exquisite fruit.
She was an amazing woman who had a difficult journey after losing her beloved mother at a young age. This difficulty was amplified by living through the occupying armies that came with World War II. These early challenges inured her to the bitterness and resentments which collect in many with age. She faced each day with equanimity and a quiet calm that gave confidence to all of us around her.
She had true grit - whether learning English in her 50s or encouraging her students when she was a high school Physics teacher. She had a bearing of grounded authority and yet, the tenderness of her heart was her true strength. No matter the challenge or difficulty, she never, ever gave up on herself or those she loved.
She is dearly missed by her son Antoni and his daughter Andrea, her son Emil and his wife Jennifer and their son Mansur and many, many others.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 9AM to 11AM with a 10AM funeral service at Lorne and Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33483.
