Elizabeth Caltagirone, 89, passed away peacefully at home in Delray Beach on December 12, 2020.  She was born on August 27, 1931 in San Cipirello, Sicily to Pietro Licata and Josaphine DiGiovanni Licata.  She immigrated to the United States in 1950 and lived in Brooklyn, NY.  She married Alfonso P. Caltagirone on September 5, 1954 and they moved to Rockford, Illinois.  While there they raised three children Carlo, Paulina and Peter.

In 1983 Elizabeth and Alfonso, retired and moved to Florida.  Elizabeth was an excellent seamstress and baker.  She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed the opera.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband Alfonso, son Carlo, daughter Paulina (Michael) Mulanix, son Peter (Dawn) Caltagerone, grandchildren Vincent and Elizabeth Caltagerone, Chelsea (Will) Edwards, Michael (Roxana) Mulanix, Jr., Matthew and Marissa Caltagerone, her sister Tina Licata and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm at the Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Avenue, Delray Beach. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 15700 S. Military Trail, Delray Beach, Florida (between Atlantic Ave and Linton Blvd).
