Elizabeth "Betty" Gatto, 80 of Delray Beach passed away peacefully on April 5, 2024.  Betty was an accomplished CPA, Enrolled Agent and Master Tax Advisor for H & R Block.  She was sharp of mind and even sharper of tongue.  Betty had a great passion for sunshine and the beach and an extraordinary love for rescue dogs.

She was predeceased by her husband Harold Wertman and stepson Steven Wertman.  Betty is survived by her brother John Gatto, stepson Gary Wertman (Cathie), granddaughter Michelle Wertman and grandson Gregory Wertman (Lauren), great grandchildren Teagan, Luke, Braelyn and Hunter as well as numerous dear friends.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 18, 2024, 11:30AM at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 15700 South Military Trail, Delray Beach, FL 33445.  Burial will follow at 1:30PM at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7/441, Lake Worth, FL 33449 in Lane 5.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League , West Palm Beach, FL or St. Jude Children's Hospital , Memphis, TN.
