Obituary

Emory D. Jones passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 surrounded by family.  He was 75 years old.  Emory was born in Sandersville, Georgia at home to Ray and Ruby Jones and a sister Doris, all who preceded him in death.  Emory moved to Boynton Beach in 1968 where he lived until his passing.  Emory loved sports and devoted many years to coaching and umpiring Little League baseball in Boynton Beach where he was a mentor to many young men.  He was a whiz with numbers, an amazing crop duster and aerobatics pilot and retired from Security National Life as a Vice President.  He was an avid golfer, loved the casino and was an exceptional and strategically successful poker player.  Emory never backed down from a fight and fought a great battle with cancer over the last 7 months.  He was a previous cancer survivor of more than 18 years!

Emory will be lovingly remembered as a totally devoted husband by Rachel his wife of 48 years and as a fun and loving father by his two daughters Debbie (Paul) and Denese (Miguel).  He will also be fondly remembered as the very best PopPop by his grandchildren Kristin (Michael), Toni Marie, Timothy (Christina) and Dalton as well as by his six great grandchildren Kylee, Kaden, Kassidy, Kaleb, Kamryn and Lucas.  Emory is also survived by his two brothers-in-law Paul (Sue) and Tony Izzarone as well as numerous cousins and friends who he spent many fun times with traveling, eating crabs, playing dominoes, bocce ball and poker!

A Funeral Mass in memory of Emory will be celebrated on Thursday, November 29th at 11:00 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10935 S Military Trail, Boynton Beach, FL.  Interment will follow at Palm Beach Memorial Park, 3691 N Seacrest Blvd, Lantana, FL.
