Obituary

After a long battle with illness, Eveline Bulatovic Sweet passed away on March 8, 2020, in Delray Beach, Florida.

She was born in Linz, Austria, emigrated in 1957 to the US with her parents, Gertrude, and the late Radoje Bulatovic, and became a naturalized citizen in 1968. She grew up in Harrisburg, PA, and earned a B.A. from Shippensburg University. After graduation, she worked as a staff writer for the PA House Republican caucus and for Governor Dick Thornburgh. Later, she worked for the Caring Program of Blue Cross, the precursor of the government-funded CHIP program of children's health. She also served as special assistant to First Lady Midge Rendell. Her marriage to David W. Sweet ended in divorce in 2008.

After becoming a mother, Eveline devoted her time and energy to her family and volunteer activities in the local schools and the junior civics club. She provided assistance to refugee families in the Harrisburg area. Most recently, she worked with Habitat for Humanity. Eveline's sense of humor, caring heart and willingness to always lend a helping hand outlive her and remain dear in her family's memories.

Eveline was the proud and loving mother of Andrew Sweet (Elizabeth Fiandaca) of Corte Madera, CA, and Natalie (Sweet) Van Horn (Bryan Van Horn) of Kansas City, MO. She was elated to be a first-time grandmother to Julia Caroline Sweet. She is also survived by her mother, her sisters, Anamaria and Michele and her brother Marko.
