F. Stone Roberts, Sr., 81, passed away peacefully on October 24th, 2025, in Delray Beach, FL with his loving wife by his side.  A long-time advertising executive, with over a 50-year career, Stone guided some of the biggest brands in the world, including L'Oreal, Cover Girl, Johnson & Johnson, Neutrogena, AOL, Bacardi, and launched Diet Coke worldwide which became Brand of the Decade in the 1980s.  Known for his humor, gravelly voice, and horn rimmed glasses, he was a second generation Mad Man who captivated everyone he met.  The proof of his genial success filled his shelves with every advertising and marketing award in the industry.

As the son of a Presbyterian Minister, Stone attended the William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia for 13 years as a scholarship recipient.  Stone attributed all of his success to the education he received at Penn Charter.  Given this, Stone established the F. Stone Roberts OPC '62 Scholarship Fund that now supports two full scholarships for students with financial needs from Germantown or East Falls, PA.

Following graduation from Grove City College, Stone disregarded his father's suggestion that he go into law or banking, and headed straight for Madison Avenue.  Over the next five decades he led several agencies including SSC&B, Lintas, Gotham, Roberts & Tarlow, and finally Roberts and Langer when he retired in 2018.

Stone spent every summer of his life, and his retirement years at his beloved Seaview, Fire Island beach house.  He and Julie also enjoyed wonderful times with friends and family at their homes in Telluride, Colorado and Delray Beach, Florida.

Stone is survived by his wife Julie Dolan Roberts, of Delray Beach, FL; his sons F. Stone Roberts, Jr. (Kristin) of Topanga, CA, and Link M. Roberts of Boynton Beach, FL.  Stone relished his role as Grandpa to his three grandsons, whom he adored:  Stonie Roberts, Cole Roberts and Leo Roberts.  Stone was the son of late Reverend Gordon Link Roberts and Eleanor Stone Roberts.

A funeral will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 (All Saints Day) at 11:00 AM at Laurel Hill West Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd, PA.
