Obituary

Fanny M. Vaccarino, 90, of New York, New York, most recently residing in Delray Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Born August 21st, 1932 to Nunzio and Gaetana Squillante. Fanny lived a blessed young life in Mt. Vernon and Yorktown Heights, New York. She was raised with her five siblings, Dominick, Josephine, Minnie, Martin, and Nunzio.

Fanny was the beloved wife and best friend of her one true love of 63 years, the late John B. Vaccarino. The devoted mother of three beautiful children: Camille Tommarello (Anthony) of Laguna Hills, California, John A. Vaccarino of New York, New York, and Ida Beck (Kevin) of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The extremely proud grandmother of seven grandchildren: Christopher, Nicholas (Lily), Alexa, Gianna, Francesca, Anthony, and Deanna. The most loving great grandmother of her great grandson, Jayson. Fanny is also survived by her brother, Nunzio. Fanny was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and four siblings.

Fanny dedicated her life to creating a loving home for her family and friends. Visitors were always welcomed with a big hug, cup of coffee, their favorite dessert, and all the local gossip. Fanny was frequently the life of the party. She was always willing to dress up, sing off key, dance outrageously, and loved being the center of attention. Fanny enjoyed a life full of adventure and eventually settled in south Florida after retiring from her work as a Food Service Manager at Pelham High School. Fanny loved to travel, act as a "camp" director for her grandchildren, spend time with family and friends, cook the yummiest food, and crochet the comfiest blankets. Fanny was the strongest, most loving, larger than life woman who will be remembered with the fondest of memories. Her Family will honor her life on Sunday, June 11th from 6pm – 8pm at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 N.E. 6th Avenue, Delray Beach, Florida.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 12th at 11:30 am at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 15700 South Military Trail, Delray Beach, Florida, where Fanny and her late husband were active parishioners for many years. Burial will follow at 1:30 pm at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 FL-7, Lake Worth, Florida.
