It is with great sadness that we announce the passing our beloved mother, Florence Wolanin of Delray Beach, FL and formerly of Wethersfield, CT on Friday, February 27, 2026. Florence was born on May 18,1930 in Hartford, CT. She was married in 1949, then helped raise her family for 50 years in Wethersfield, CT before moving to Delray Beach, FL with her husband, Chester. Florence will be remembered for being a loving, wife and mother, who in her spare time enjoyed: cooking, reading, swimming, shopping with her daughters, coloring on her tablet, doing puzzles, and creating new friendships with her kind and thoughtful neighbors at her residence in High Point Assoc. Section #4.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 60 years in 2009, her youngest son John, in 2011, her parents Paul and Amelia Bystrowski, and her two brothers Frank and Joseph Bystrowski. She will be greatly missed by her surviving children: Susan (Ronald) Kennedy, David (Jane) Wolanin, Joyce (William) Kevetos, and Jane (Ronald) Consiglio, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and host of nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, March 23, 2026, 10:30 AM at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 840 George Bush Blvd., Delray Beach, FL 33483. The family has requested a private burial at South Florida National Cemetery.
