Obituary

Frank DiGiacomo, 82, passed away peacefully in his Delray Beach home on February 5th, 2023.  Adored husband of 60 years to Leslie "Lee" (Curry), devoted father to Danielle (David Ganek), Kathleen (Paul Ayton), Paul, and Kristen, and loving grandfather to Harry, Nicky, and Zoe Ganek.  Frank is also survived by his sister Barbara and brothers Jerry, Mike, and Dan.

Frank was born on May 16, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY to Philomène and Frank DiGiacomo.  An enthusiastic athlete and competitive weightlifter in his youth he was also a top student, attending City College and receiving a scholarship to the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business.
In 1964 as an MBA graduate, Frank began what would be a long and international career as a financial officer at W.R. Grace and Visa.  He lived a rich and adventurous life with his family in Brazil, Switzerland, France, and England before retiring to Florida with Lee.  Together they enjoyed travel, culture, skiing, tennis, golf and gastronomy.  Frank loved food and exploring restaurants, new and old, though his favorite meals were always the ones prepared by his wife.
He was a lifelong tennis player, a lover of Brazilian music which he played on high in his car, and always had his newspaper with him and the crossword puzzle which he would finish in ink.
Ever grateful to the University of Chicago for the opportunity offered to him, he was very proud to later be able to endow a similar scholarship there in his name.  He also became very interested in cancer research and followed the doctors working in this field with interest and support.
After a life of global travel, Frank enjoyed the sunshine and warmth of Florida, on the golf course, the waterfront or taking walks in bird sanctuaries looking for alligators.
Family and friends will be gathering for a Memorial on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 3:00pm at Saint Paul's Church, 188 S Swinton Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33444.
