Gayle Pittman Murphy Russo, one of Delray's original beauties, died peacefully on July 4th 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents, Warren and Earline Pittman, brother Stewart, infant son Rhett and sister Christa. A lifelong Delray Beach resident, she attended Delray Elementary and graduated from Seacrest High school on 1960. Attending FSU, followed by stays in Southern California and New York City, she returned to Delray to pursue careers in banking and the health food industry. Known for her radiant beauty and personality, she gathered many near and dear friends throughout her life. Her adventurous spirit led her to the Florida Keys, Mexico, the Caribbean and New England only to return to her beautiful Delray Beach home and family. Here she enjoyed hours sunning and beach-combing, friends and family gatherings and the company of her beloved kitties in her tropical paradise. Gayle is survived by her devoted husband Race Russo, son Edward (Cinthia) Murphy, Larry Murphy, beloved granddaughter Emmerson Murphy and niece Chelsea Lee Reagan. An unforgettable woman, she will be remembered by many and missed by all. A celebration of her life will be held mid-afternoon August 13th at Raceland. Condolences and R.S.V.P to Raceco@bellsouth.net.
