On September 14, 2014 Genoveva (Veva) Jettinghoff of Delray Beach was called peacefully from this earth to her place in heaven. She was 97 years old and survived by her four children Liz, Tony, Ed, and Carmen along with eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
Genoveva, as a nurse from humble roots in Puerto Rico, traveled to Venezuela to work for Shell Oil Company where she met a young Dutch engineer, fell in love, and got married. Together they saw the world, raised a family, and made the most of every opportunity that came their way. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Johannes (Tony) Jettinghoff. Few could match the exciting life they lived of travel, adventure, and family.
Veva was a devout Catholic and long-time member of the Rosary Altar Society. She had many, varied interests and hobbies over her lifetime and excelled in most. Her many longtime friends held her in high esteem and cherished her loyal and generous friendship.
Most importantly, Veva was an extraordinary wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family remembers fondly her loving ways, playfulness, and patience. Her peaceful and tranquil nature had a calming effect and cloaked those around her. She left this world a better place and will be dearly missed.

Friends may call on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at the Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Avenue (North Federal Highway) Delray Beach. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30AM at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 840 George Bush Blvd., Delray Beach. Interment at Palm Beach Memorial Park, Lantana, Florida.
