Obituary

George Vied of Delray Beach, FL died March 6 th , 2019 from Liver and Lung Cancer.  He was 76 years of age.

George was born in Kentucky in 1943 where he grew up on a small farm with his eight other brothers and sisters.  Only his brother Herold is still alive.  He met and married Judy Hibbs in 1969 and they were married and faithful to each other up until her death in 2015.  Together they had one son, Michael, born in 1972 who resides in Boca Raton, FL with his wife Suzy.

George was a hardworking man.  He spent his entire life working hard to provide for his family.  He started working in his school years on the farm, but spent the last 30 years of his working life at a tire factory in Union City, TN.

George was a great family man who tried to provide in all ways to his family.  George valued education, instilling those values in his son.  He was most proud to watch his son receive both his college and master's degrees.   George was a great Father and teacher of many other life lessons, as well, like family devotion.  George was deeply devoted to his wife, Judy.  She had health problems for many many years and he was her primarily caregiver.  They were married for 46 years up until her death in 2015.

George was a member of First Baptist Church of Delray beach.  He loved going to church on Sundays, hearing the messages and talking with all the parishioners.  And he really liked those dinners on Wednesday.

As anyone who met George would attest, he never met a stranger.  Commenting, "they are only strangers until you start talking with them."  George made friends in his community, church and development.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Suzy Vied of Boca Raton, FL; brother, Herold Vied of Kentucky.

Graveside service will be held at Delray Beach Memorial Gardens, 700 SW 8th Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33444, on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 11:00 AM.
