George C. Walsh Jr., 89, of Boynton Beach, FL and formerly of Darien, CT passed away on January 6, 2017. He was born July 9, 1927 in Yonkers, NY. George graduated from All Hallows High School where he was captain of the varsity baseball team and remained a dedicated alumnus in support of generations of students. He graduated from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. George served in the Navy in WWII and in the Army in the Korean War. He was married to his beloved wife Elizabeth Bleakley on January 6, 1951. George was a partner at the investment firm Auchincloss, Parker and Redpath and last associated with Gilford Securities, NYC, before he retired. With his expertise in finance, George helped a broad array of companies develop successful growth strategies. This included companies in the pharmaceutical, capital equipment, beverage, and architectural engineering industries. He served on the Finance Committee of the St. Vincent De Paul Seminary in Boynton Beach, Florida. George was a lifelong sports enthusiast and enjoyed his later years golfing, reading history, drawing and also embraced the camaraderie of the Quail Ridge CC community. George especially loved spending time with his wife, family and friends.

George is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty); four children:
Kathleen W. Rogers and husband Peter of Darien, CT, Kevin P. Walsh of
Norwalk, CT, Peter D. Walsh and wife Rachel of New Canaan, CT, George
C. Walsh III of Norwalk, CT; nine grandchildren, eight great grand
children, half-brother Michael Walsh of Cape Cod, MA, half-sister
Debbie Walsh of Cape Cod, MA, Half-brother Dennis Walsh of Jupiter, FL. George was predeceased by his sister, Helene and brother, John.

He was genuinely loved by all who knew him. Dedication to family and friends were the ballast in his life. His love, laughter and warm smile will be missed.

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 12, 2017 10:30AM at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church 840 George Bush Blvd. Delray Beach, FL 33483.
