Obituary

Gerald D. Morgan, "Jerry" of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018. He was 87 years old.  Gerald was born in Manhattan, NY on June 21, 1930, to Genevieve and Harry Morgan.  He received his Bachelor's Degree from Notre Dame University, and his Masters at Baruch College where he earned his MBA in Finance. He was a Veteran of both WWII and the Korean War.

Jerry is survived by his loving children and grandchildren, Peter Morgan of NY and his wife Theresa, Geraldine Monaco of NY, David Morgan and his Fiance Mary Overfield of Fl,  son-in -law John J. Lacy of NY. He was preceded in death by his wife Louise "Gina" Morgan and his daughter Ginette Lacy. Jerry has eight grandchildren, Timothy Morgan, Emily Morgan, Christopher Morgan, Katie Lacy, John Lacy, Caroline Lacy,  Christian Morgan and his wife Nicole, Dylan Morgan and his four great grandchildren Spencer, Haven Theo and Dylan, who all lovingly referred to him as "Pop".

During his working career, he was a seasoned Institutional Utility Bond Analyst. His research and reports were widely read on Wall Street for over 30 years. During the 1970's, he was also a frequent guest on Public Broadcast, channel 13, where he spoke with top experts in the field of Finance. Jerry worked with Prudential-Bache, Alex Brown, and other top Investment Banks in both New York and Florida. He retired in 1995.

As a  seasoned traveler he spent many years traveling to Northern Italy, specifically the Piedmont region, where his wife's family originated. Jerry loved to visit with his cousins in Torino while also vacationing with them in Gina's hometown of Biella, Italy.

Jerry's joy was his Alma Mater, The University of Notre Dame. As an alumnus Jerry used to frequent alumni events and one of his favorite past times was going to South Bend to watch the "Fighting Irish" play football. Jerry prided himself on being an alumnus of the prestigious University, and enjoyed bringing his grandchildren to see the illustrious campus.

He was a member of the fellowship of AA, in good standing, for 48 years. To him AA was inspired by God. He believed it to be a mystery that was the medium through which God ordinarily imparts the gift of sobriety to alcoholics. His life was a labor of love to countless men and women in recovery.

Jerry was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church in Highland Beach, FL.

Jerry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. We will always remember his kindness, humor, generosity, and love. He will remain forever in our hearts.
