Obituary

Gerry Donnelly, 67, a resident of Delray Beach and Grosse Pointe Farms, MI passed away peacefully Saturday, June 13, 2015, in Florida.
Born in Boston, he graduated from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and earned a MBA degree from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA.
He was an executive with Ford Motor Co., holding numerous positions in sales and marketing for 31 years. His last assignments were national advertising manager and field operations manager for Ford Division.
Gerry was a gentleman and a source of inspiration for those who knew him: a leader and a role model. He cherished time with his family and friends, had tremendous Faith, cared deeply about education and was a champion for organ donation. He worked with the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan chairing its "Kidney Walk" at The Detroit Zoo and served on a development board at Henry Ford Hospital. In 2001, he was the recipient of "The Champion of Hope" Award in Detroit.
Gerry was an avid reader, loved golf, rock and roll music and was passionate about his beloved Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He was a member of The Country Club of Detroit, Gulf Stream Golf Club, Gulf Stream Bath and Tennis Club in Florida, and Wianno Club in Osterville, MA.
Gerry will be remembered most for his strength of character, courage, positive attitude, and sense of humor.
Gerry is survived by his spouse, Ginna Ives Donnelly; his two sons, William B. Donnelly and Andrew G. Donnelly and his three grandchildren, Jack, Katherine and Grace.
He also is survived by his brother, William H. Donnelly and his sister, Jane Donnelly Stirling.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at noon, Tuesday, June 30, at St. Paul on the Lake, 157 Lakeshore, Grosse Pointe Farms.
