Gerhardt Meyer Witt, of Boynton Beach, Florida passed away on June 28, 2026.
Mr. Witt is survived by his wife, Rev. Christina D. Encinosa; his two sisters, Melanie Witt-Kikta (Ken) of Norwalk, CT and Selina Witt-Berg (Richard), of Bend, OR and his nephew Kendrew Witt of Dallas, TX.
Mr. Witt was a graduate of Furman University with dual degrees in Geology and History, afterwards he would go on to attend graduate school at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric and Earth Science. He was the Principal Hydrogeologist, Founder and President of Gerhardt M. Witt and Associates, Inc, a Hydrogeology, Geology and Water Resources firm in West Palm Beach. Mr. Witt was co-author of a MGraw-Hill text book, Groundwater Injection and his work took him to many countries in the Caribbean, helping them with clean water resources. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Christina; he was passionate about rocks and dinosaurs; he also was an avid volunteer and helped many people in his lifetime; he was funny, smart and above all very kind and ethical in both his professional and private life.
A funeral will be held at ST. PAUL’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 188 S. Swinton Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33444 on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 11AM with interment to follow at ST. PAUL’s Memorial Garden and a reception in the parish hall.
