Gertrude Baur Warnock died peacefully October 9, 2012, at her home in Delray Beach, Florida where she lived for the last 30 years. Born in Kiel, Germany in 1919, she later came to the United States, and to New York in particular, where she made her home and raised a family with her now deceased husband Joseph Christen Baur. She was a widow for three years when she married Maurice John Warnock ("Moose"). They shared a wonderful marriage together until Moose died in 2003 at the age of 100. Trude is survived by her son Ronald William Baur of Delray Beach and North Carolina, stepsons Thomas C. Warnock of Alexandria, Viriginia and John H. Bair of Brecksville, Ohio. Her grandchildren Christa Baur Hochstrasser, Bradley Joseph Baur and Gregory Peter Baur and six great grandchildren all reside in Raleigh, North Carolina while granddaughter Emily Bair and grandson Craig Bair call Ohio their home. Trude was predeceased by her daughter Carol Joan Baur.
Trude's long life has been punctuated by being a mother, stepmother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, grandmother (Oma), great grandmother (Oma Trude), mother-in-law, employer, board member, dedicated volunteer, and friend to so many. We who are Trude's son, stepsons, granddaughter, grandsons, great granddaughters, great grandsons, daughter-in-laws, nephews and nieces are forever grateful. Trude was a dignified woman who played a pivotal role in shaping our family.
