Obituary

Glenn Jon McDonald, 57, passed away April 29 in Delray Beach, where he was a long-time resident. For three decades Glenn was Senior Estimator for Gulfstream Roofing in Delray Beach. He attended Atlantic High School in Delray Beach and Palm Beach Junior College. Glenn forever will be remembered as one of the really good guys - a man who generously devoted time to family and friends. A jack-of-all-trades who learned the value of work as a youth, Glenn could do anything, from trimming trees to repairing anything in the household. But he was never too busy or tired to visit his mother at her assisted living residence in Stuart, FL. An avid surfer, Glenn got his first board from his older brother and remained linked to the sand, sun and sea.

He is survived by his sister Patricia McDonald Hogan (Joe), brother Robert John McDonald and sister-in-law Margaret Miller McDonald and nieces Kelly Anne Hogan, Kristen Hogan Moynihan (Michael) and nephews Edward Michael McDonald III and Marshall Harris McDonald, as well as three great nieces and more than thirty cousins.

Friends may call on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 5PM to 7PM at the Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6 th Avenue (N Federal Hwy.) Delray Beach followed by a memorial reception from 6:30PM to 9PM at the Surfing Museum, 255 NE 6 th Ave., Delray Beach.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Palm Beach County Surfing History Project, 335 Flagler Blvd., Lake Park, Florida 33403 in Glenn's memory. (Click here to donate)
