Gloria R.
Fanelli
August 31, 1928 – October 7, 2019
Gloria Fanelli (nee Pollaci) of Delray Beach, Florida died on Monday, October 7, 2019. She was 91 years old. Born in New York City on August 31, 1928 to the late Joseph and Mary (nee Palermo) Pollaci, she grew up with her extended family in a large brownstone in Harlem. Gloria attended secretarial school and after graduation worked her way up through the A.C. Israel Import/Export Company. She met and married her husband Pasquale Fanelli, a WWII Veteran and Engineer, in 1957 and they moved to Brooklyn together where they would spend many years, again living among family.
In 1980 they moved to Delray Beach, Florida and Gloria worked for Chase Bank where she ended her long career with them as a Vice President. Gloria is predeceased by her loving husband Pat, her sister Ann, her brother Joe, as well as many beloved in-laws whom she was regularly surrounded by, and very close to, throughout her years spent in Florida. She is survived by 13 nieces and nephews as well as many of their children and their families. She will be greatly missed by all those she leaves behind. Sadly, with her passing the NY Giants have lost one of their most loyal fans as we have lost the last remaining member of a generation of our family.
Friends may call on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Avenue, Delray Beach, FL 33483. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 840 George Bush Blvd., Delray Beach. Entombment will be at Our Lady Queen of Peace Mausoleum in Royal Palm Beach, FL.
