Hal Barron Meadors, 88, of Delray Beach, Florida and formerly of Van Buren, Arkansas and Pinehurst, North Carolina passed away on April 9, 2017.Mr. Meadors was predeceased by his father, George Meadors; his mother, Zoe Barron Meadors; and his sister, Faye Bennett. He is survived by his wife, Allene Coats Means Meadors of Delray Beach; his son, Dr. Allen Meadors and his daughter-in-law Barbara of Seven Lakes, North Carolina; his grandsons, Tyson Meadors of Arlington, Virginia and Jarrett Meadors and family (granddaughter-in-law, Kara and two great grandchildren Addison and Grayson) of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Mr. Meadors was a WWII Navy veteran and served in the Air National Guard during the Cuba Crisis. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 35 years. He was a graduate of Van Buren Senior High School in Van Buren, Arkansas, where he was active in sports and played in the school band. He was involved in numerous community organizations and served as union representative for his local Postal Service unit.
A Memorial Service will be held at noon, April 13, 2017 at Harbour's Edge in Delray Beach, Florida.
