Irene L. Cohan passed away peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2024 at the age of 97.  She was born in Detroit, Michigan where she married Sgt. Duncan Daugherty who was awarded a bronze star and Purple Heart.  Irene raised her family in Clinton Twp. before moving to Palm Beach County in 1975.  She worked there in the mortgage industry where she made many friends.  She loved living in Florida and all it had to offer.  Irene enjoyed going to the movies and theatre and had a small role in the Delray Beach Play House production of Kismet.

After retirement, she enjoyed time spent with family and friends.  She is survived by her daughters, Linda Purdo and Karen Battersby.  She is fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Devon (Greg) Morris, Lauren (Douglas) Kennedy and T. Zachary (Heather) Purdo.  She will be greatly missed by her three great-grandchildren, Thomas, Carolina and Eve Kennedy.
