Jacob "Jake" Skenian, 86, of Delray Beach, FL and formerly of Arlington, MA passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. "Jake" was the loving husband of the late L. Mary, treasured father of Karen Newman and Michael Skenian (Pam), dear grandfather to Jake and Christiane Newman, Carly and Melanie Skenian, loving great grandpa to Beau Brailey. He is predeceased by his parents, Nazar and Mary Skenian, sister Ann Shahzade, and son in law, David Newman. Jake graduated from Boston College with a BS in Mathematics. He met and married Mary after 6 months of courtship in 1955 and they enjoyed a beautiful life together for 60 years. Jake was a proud member serving our Country and being discharged as Army Lieutenant. He was an Engineer at Lincoln Labs followed by a Senior Project Systems Analyst at the Raytheon Company where he was responsible for the development of the Hawk and Sparrow Missiles.


Jake later owned his own convenience store known to all as "Jakes" where he taught his family the invaluable experience of working with the public and customer appreciation values.
Jake was a very avid golfer, Past President and Club Champion at Oakley CC in Watertown, MA, and member and Club Champion at Woodland CC in Weston, MA. After becoming a full time Florida resident since 1987, he became a member of Broken Sound CC becoming Club Champion as well. In addition to golf, his second passion was sport fishing and spending time on the water.

A visitation will be held at St. David Armenian Church (2300 Yamato Rd., Boca Raton, FL 33431) on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 10:30AM immediately followed by the Final Blessing and a Funeral at 11:00AM promptly.
