Lt. Col James M. Griffin, 91, of Delray Beach, FL passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026. Lt Col was a US Army Viet Nam veteran. Upon retirement in the US Army, James was a Vice-President of Security for the South and Central America branches of Chase Bank. He was predeceased by his wife Gemma in 2018.

He is survived by his cousins Al Fries, Pat McMechen and Mary Anne Sarka all of Boynton Beach also Anne Vaccaro of New Jersey and Michelle Beckenhaupt of New York.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, 11:30AM at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic church, 840 George Bush Blvd., Delray Beach, FL 33483. Burial will follow with military honors at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7/441, Lake Worth, FL 33449 at 1:30PM in Lane #5.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
