James "Jim" W. Nowlin, Jr., 83, a long time resident of Delray Beach, FL, born in Arcadia, FL passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Jim proudly served our country during the Korean War in the US Army. A retired attorney, he practiced in Delray Beach for over 50 years and served as Delray Beach City Judge for six years. He was a faithful member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Delray Beach where he served as chancellor, chalice bearer and choir member. Jim was a private pilot and sports car enthusiast.
Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Flo Nowlin and four daughters, Bonnie Davis (Dan) of Jacksonville, FL, Suzy Vied (Michael) of Boca Raton, FL, Sandy Schooley (Bob) of West Palm Beach, FL and Joni Davis (Michael) of West Palm Beach, FL. Loving grandchildren include Alexandra and Samantha Davis and Justin and Jared Schooley.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the LORNE AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 745 NE 6th Avenue(North Federal Highway), Delray Beach (Lorneandsons.com). A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 22, 2012, 11:00AM at St. Paul's Church 188 South Swinton Ave, Delray Beach, FL.
